From jettisoning the

'never meant to be' to knitting
'what we mean to be'
We had challenged our fate

We stood hand in hand
Close enough to feel
our heartbeats resonate
Amidst the milieu that was ablaze
The warmth in our breaths was the insulation and our smiles
reflecting one another,
our testimony of the 'us' we were

Our togetherness
was enviable to the binary stars
For our souls had blent into one
And our worlds spun around in integrity

Everything that was idyllic was just
'The quiet before the storm'
and believed to be otherwise
It brought the winter
Real soon and real cold
and with only the darkest of nights
For days had been engulfed and forgotten

We surrendered
We imploded
We're the collapsed core that'll go nowhere
For our space is just ours
Now and forever
